Electronics
Develop digital and analog electronics for ion optics, measurement and instrument control.
CAREERS AT PUREIONS
Join a small, interdisciplinary startup working where physics, engineering, software and nanotechnology meet.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We welcome working students, bachelor’s and master’s students, and experienced professionals.
You might arrive from computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or nanotechnology. What matters is a sound theoretical foundation, practical experience and the drive to move between disciplines when the problem calls for it.
WHERE YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE
Our work spans the complete path from an early scientific question to electronics, software, vacuum hardware and a working experiment.
Develop digital and analog electronics for ion optics, measurement and instrument control.
Work from microcontrollers and FPGAs through to control interfaces and application software.
Design and build vacuum components, ion sources and ion guides for new instrument generations.
Run or support scientific experiments that turn CIBD concepts into reproducible results.
Help explain our technology and strengthen public-relations activities around the team.
YOUR QUALIFICATION & PASSION
We value people who are comfortable in the lab and take responsibility for moving work forward. Initiative, reliability and a constructive DIY attitude matter just as much as discipline-specific expertise.
You enjoy practical laboratory work and learning directly from the instrument.
You bring initiative, personal responsibility and the reliability to finish what you start.
You share knowledge freely and enjoy solving problems with people from other fields.
You are open to the pace and opportunity of turning research into a growing high-tech company.
WHAT WE OFFER
Join a highly motivated spin-off team in an exciting high-tech field, with short paths between science and engineering.
Shape your working time around the role, the experiment and the stage of your studies or career.
If the collaboration is a good match, we are very open to continuing and developing it over time.
